Group CEO

Brad Hitzfield grew up in the Midwest as a carpenter’s son. He became an ironworker after high school and learned how to set steel, install a wide range of wall panels, and manage crews that would be instrumental in his career.  After five years, he pursued a degree In Building Construction Management at Purdue University to fully leverage the knowledge he gained as an ironworker and develop his entrepreneurial skills.  He was the first student from Purdue to study architecture at Brighton Polytechnic in England, solidifying his interest in the science of building exteriors.

Upon graduating from college, he opened and managed for 13 years an Indianapolis office for a regional metal panel and curtainwall contractor. That experience sparked his entrepreneurial desire to start his own business in 2004.  Engineered Facades has become a national force as a facade subcontractor over the last 15 years. During that time, he has designed and tested several window and panel systems preferred by building owners and architects.

Brad serves as Director Emeritus of one of Indiana’s largest senior living communities, and is an Executive Advisor to a privately-held financial group. He also co-founded the leadership academy for the Indiana Subcontractors Association.  In his free time, Brad loves to golf, bird hunt and fabricate metal structures in his home workshop. He and his wife of 25 years reside in Indianapolis and have two children, Jake and Melissa.
